Working Mechanism

  • In the normal state, these circuit breakers allow current to flow through the circuit.
  • In this case, the current-carrying contacts come into contact with one another.
  • When this device detects a ground fault, the contacts move apart and trip the circuit.

Features

  • Eaton CHB-Series thermal magnetic circuit breakers have standard box lug terminals to accommodate copper and aluminium wires of sizes 14 to 8 AWG.
  • Selected models have an internal common trip connection to operate all poles simultaneously.
  • They have a thermal-magnetic trip to avoid nuisance tripping during mild overloads but react instantly to severe short circuits.

Compatible Accessories

  • Eaton Load Centres: These units are useful for power distribution and circuit protection.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a circuit breaker and a fuse?

A circuit breaker has an internal switch that trips when there is excess current, whereas a fuse is a metal piece that melts when the excess current overloads the circuit.

What is the interrupt rating of these circuit breakers?

10kAIC.

How to install these circuit breakers?

  • Remove the panel cover using a screwdriver.
  • Connect the neutral and ground wires.
  • Place the breaker inside and screw the cover back to the panel.
