Piston Accumulators

Parker hydraulic piston accumulators are best suited for regulating and compensating leakages of hydraulic fluids in construction or aerial lift equipment and hydraulic presses. These piston-type accumulators feature a fatigue-tested design with Viton O-ring piston seals for leakage-free operations. They further come equipped with serviceable threaded ends for reduced installation and maintenance service downtime and facilitates mounting& in any position.

Working Mechanism

  • When hydraulic pressure is applied to the fluid side of the accumulator, the piston compresses the gas, storing potential energy.
  • When the hydraulic system requires additional power or fluid, the compressed gas expands, providing high-pressure fluid to the system.

Features

  • Parker piston accumulators feature steel shells for durability and fire resistance, ensuring long service life.
  • They have a temperature range of -20 to 165 degrees F for oil and 32 to 165 degrees F for water-glycol & water-based hydraulic fluids.
  • These Parker accumulators can withstand pressures up to 20000 PSI.
  • They are available in maximum flow rates of 100 GPM, 818 GPM, 397 GPM and 220 GPM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Raptor supplies offer pre-charged accumulators?

Yes, Raptor Supplies an authorised distributor of Enerpac offers ACL Series pre-charged accumulators are used in a hydraulic system offering multiple roles to sustain pressure, store, recover energy, diminish pressure spikes, drive chassis suspensions and absorb shock, vibration and pulsations.

What type of mounting do Parker piston accumulators allow?

They allow vertical mounting for easy installation.

What are the maintenance requirements of hydraulic piston accumulators?

Periodic inspections and testing are suggested for the maintenance of these accumulators.

What is the difference between a piston accumulator and a bladder accumulator?

Piston accumulators offer extensive customisation options and have the capacity to manage larger volumes, higher pressures and elevated temperatures compared to several bladder accumulators. Moreover, piston accumulators provide a broader range for initial precharge settings, enabling a greater fluid-to-gas ratio for specific applications.

What is the major advantage of Parker piston accumulators?

These piston accumulators can operate with the gas completely depleted without causing any harm to the piston. The ratio between maximum and minimum pressures can reach up to 25, significantly exceeding that of bladder-type accumulators.
