5130, 5131, 5133 Series Straight Line Action Clamps

Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps employ push / pull toggle clamping action. These straight line clamps feature a compact design for single part & mass production of fixtures. They have a carbon steel body with black oxide finish and hardened plungers for strength & durability, as well as to prevent wear & tear caused due to abrasive environments. These clamps employ clamping force from the side rather than the top, to secure workpieces in applications where space is confined. They come with a lever handle that engages the plunger, which presses against a workpiece to hold it in place. This easy to operate push / pull handle easily moves the plunger of the clamp in and out along its axis. The ergonomic handle is slanted backwards to provide an adequate grip. Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps feature balanced construction for rigid holding and long life. They can be locked in two positions, allowing the operator to use them as either push or pull clamps. These clamps have an overall length of 12.89 inches, a maximum holding capacity of 5800 lb and handle opening angles ranging from 113 to 139 degrees. All models have through holes on a flanged / solid base that can be mounted to a worktable or flat surface. Selected models come with the Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to ensure that the over-centre locking condition is maintained and protected against unintentional opening. These straight line clamps feature a compact design to reduce space requirement for clamp installation & operation, thereby increasing ease of use in confined spaces for both single part & mass production.

Uses

These Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps offer a wide combination of features, making them adaptable for applications such as assembly, welding & heavy duty production in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.

Features

  • Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps have a low profile design to reduce space requirement for clamp installation & operation.
  • These straight line action clamps are incorporated with a reverse acting mechanism (as the handle moves back and down to horizontal lock position, the plunger moves forward) to keep the handle out of the work zone.
  • They are equipped with hardened plungers, steel pivot pins & bushings for extended life and durability.
  • Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps come with a handle that has an opening angle of 139 degrees and is slanted backwards to provide the operator with an adequate grip.
  • These units can be locked in two positions, allowing the operator to use them as either push or pull clamps.
  • Selected models incorporate the Destaco Toggle Lock feature to offer added safety by ensuring that the over-centre locking condition is maintained and the clamp remains protected against unintentional opening (look for models ending with -R).

Compatible Accessories

  • Destaco 220203-M & 325203: These hex head spindle assemblies feature threaded bodies that aid in the quick & easy installation of Destaco 5130 Series straight line action clamps on flat surfaces / workbenches.
These spindle assemblies can also be used to replace worn-out / damaged spindles to extend the service life of your clamps and reduce the risk of marring when rubber stoppers begin to wear away.

  • Destaco 461203 & 461203-M: These hex head spindle assemblies feature threaded bodies that aid in the quick & easy installation of Destaco 5131 Series straight line action clamps on flat surfaces / workbenches.
These spindle assemblies can also be used to replace worn-out / damaged spindles to extend the service life of your clamps and reduce the risk of marring when rubber stoppers begin to wear away.
  • NOTE: Models ending with -M have a metric plunger thread. Hence, metric spindle assemblies must be used with the metric versions of Destaco 5131 straight line action clamps (Eg: 461203-M is ideal for use with 5131-M).

  • Destaco 325203 & 220203-M: These hex head spindle assemblies incorporate threaded bodies that allow quick & easy installation of Destaco 5133 Series straight line action clamps on flat surfaces / workbenches.
They can also be used to replace worn-out / damaged spindles to extend the service life of your clamps and reduce the risk of marring when rubber stoppers begin to wear away.
  • Models ending with -M have a metric plunger thread. Hence, metric spindle assemblies must be used with the metric versions of Destaco 5133 straight line action clamps. Eg: 220203-M (with M12 plunger thread size) is to be used with with 5133-M.

Standards and Approvals

  • Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps conform to international standards like ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 9001:2015 for ensuring environmental health & safety, and efficient performance of the clamps.

Installation

  • Destaco 5130, 5131, 5133 straight line action clamps come with through holes on the flanged / solid base that allows quick and secure mounting onto flat surfaces / workpieces using simple screwing.
  • They can be removed and installed at a different location by simply unscrewing using a screwdriver.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are toggle clamps measured?

Toggle clamps are available in multiple variants having different holding capacities. The capacity of a particular toggle clamp can be measured by calculating the distance between the clamping plate (at its highest position) & the workbench.

How does a straight line action clamp work?

A straight line action clamp is manually operated using a lever or handle for pushing the plunger against the workpiece and holding it securely.

What are the benefits of using Toggle Lock Plus mechanism in Destaco manual clamps?

Destaco has incoporated the Toggle Lock Plus feature in many manual clamps to act as a secondary locking mechanism to ensure that the clamps stay in the over-centre toggle lock condition. This mechanism is useful when fixtures of the clamp are inverted, in motion or in a vibratory environment. It provides an extra level of safety for the operator and the workpiece. Does the red colour of the handle signify anything?

The red coloured handles alert the user of the location of the operating handle and when he should grab it. The red colour has no additional advantage to the working of the clamps.
