ALLPAX GASKET CUTTER SYSTEMS 6100 Series Metric Gasket Cutter Kits

Allpax 6100 Series gasket cutter kits are used for accurately cutting gaskets and circular joints up to 61 inches (1550 mm) in diameter, in materials like leather, rubber, plastic, PTFE and vulcanised fibre. Allpax 6100 Series metric gasket cutter kits comprise factory assembled tools that don'...t require installation and are ready for use. All an operator needs is a piece of paper or cardboard, a pencil for marking on the paper or gasket material and an Allpax 6100 Series metric gasket cutter kit to cut accurate flange gaskets. These kits make accurate cuts and leave clean edges so that gaskets will seat properly and form a tight seal. These extension style gasket cutters move their bladed block around a central pivot point to create ring gaskets. The scale on the block can be set to form gaskets of specific outside & inside diameters. These compass-style blade cutters include a block assembly & cutting blades.Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right metric gasket cutter?

The most important deciding factor is whether the assembly needs to be stationary or portable. In general, extension style circular metric gasket cutters are portable and lightweight. These electric gasket cutter kits are widely used to fabricate non-metallic or non-rigid gasket materials. Rotary gasket cutters, on the other hand, are heavier and require mounting or bolting on a vise or workbench for fixed-location gasket cutting. These circular gasket cutters are ideal for metallic or rigid gasket materials, as well as for cutting irregularly shaped gaskets. They are powered using either a hand crank or an electric motor. The motorised version provides quick, hassle-free operation but requires electric power. Hand-operated gasket cutters do not require any electrical power supply and hence, can be installed anywhere.

How to use Allpax 6100 metric gasket cutter kits?

  • Pierce a small hole in the centre.
  • Mark the outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID) and pitch circle diameter (PCD) directly on the gasket material. You can determine bolt hole locations using a paper template.
  • Create a pilot hole in the gasket material with a piercing tool.
  • Choose a centre pin that is approximately 1/2 inch (12 mm) longer than the thickness of the gasket material. Insert the pin through the gasket material. The protruding centre pin should be inserted into the recessed ferrule in the centre of the cutting board. Spread the gasket material evenly over the board.
  • On the cutter block, loosen the thumbscrew that holds the cutting blade. Cut the gasket material so that the blade protrudes beyond its thickness. Tighten the thumbscrew.
  • Loosen the top thumbscrew. Adjust the OD on the cutter block scale by sliding the pivot post indicator. Tighten the top thumbscrew.
  • The pivot post hole should be positioned over the centre pin. Ensure that the cutter block is lying flat on the gasket material.
  • With slight downward pressure, rotate the cutter block clockwise to make the cut. Simultaneously press down on the gasket material to prevent rotation.
  • For thick or hard-to-cut gasket materials, make several shallow passes to complete through cut. Alternatively, cut halfway through the gasket material, flip material over and complete the cut.
  • Punch out bolt holes using a hole punch.
  • Loosen the top thumbscrew. Slide pivot post indicator to the desired ID. Tighten the top thumbscrew.
  • Finally, make the ID finished gasket.
