Reed Instruments R8008 portable radiation meter is designed for detecting radioactive deposits or leakage in pharmaceutical, metal plants, power stations and stone pits.
Features:
- It comes with a highly sensitive Geiger counter sensor and CMOS integrated circuit technology to detect radiation within the range of 0.0001 - 1000 microsievert per hour.
- This device provides an accumulation of detected values and automatic conversation between different measurement units.
- It also includes user-adjustable alarms (audible / visual indicators), average time & pulse counting functions and a low-battery indicator with 10-minute auto shut-off service.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What is the use of internal memory in this radiation meter?
A. An internal memory can record up to 4000 groups of data while providing an external data logging facility to Windows XP / 7 / 8 / 10 systems via Bluetooth.
Q. What is a pulse sound?
A. When radiation is detected the meter will make a ticking (pulse) sound. The stronger the radiation signal the faster the ticking sound will be. It can be enabled or disabled by pressing the SETUP button and following the instructions thereafter.
Q. Can this meter measure the radioactivity of an object or area?
A. The radiation meter is only intended to detect the radiation dose of alpha, beta, gamma and X-rays from an object and not the physical quantity describing the radioactivity of an object / area.
