Working Mechanism

  • Each gas source has a pressure regulator that reduces the pressure of the gas to a safe and usable level.
  • The switchover manifold consists of a set of valves and sensors that control the flow of gas from the sources to the application.
  • Pressure sensors are installed in the system to monitor the pressure of the gas in each source and the manifold.
  • When the gas pressure in the primary source drops below a certain level, the system's pressure sensors will detect the pressure drop.
  • The system's control logic will then automatically switch the valves to allow gas flow from the secondary source.
  • Once the secondary source is activated, the pressure sensors will continue to monitor the gas pressure from both sources.
  • When the pressure in the primary source restores, the system will automatically switch back to the primary source.

Features

  • Harris gas switchover systems allow operators to switch from a primary cylinder to a backup without ceasing operation or gas flow.
  • Their diaphragm eliminates contamination from out-gassing or diffusion.
  • These gas switchover systems feature brass bodies covered with chrome plating for corrosion resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to maintain gas switchover systems?

Check the system for leaks, replace worn-out parts, clean filters, calibrate pressure sensors and test the system's functionality.

How can I ensure that my gas switchover system is safe to use?

Inspect the system regularly for leaks, ensure that the system is properly grounded & installed in a well-ventilated area and make sure that the system is serviced & maintained by qualified personnel.

How do I choose the right gas switchover system for my application?

Consider factors like the type of gas being used, the required flow rate & pressure range and the number of gas sources.
