Working Mechanism

  • Eaton XT IEC series contactors switch electrical loads on & off after responding to a control signal.
  • After the control circuit is energised, the contactor's coil gets energised and generates a magnetic field. This attracts the contactor's contact arm to move & close the electrical contacts. This further closes the circuit to allow the flow of electrical current to the load.
  • After de-energising the control circuit, the magnetic field collapses to release the contact arm & open the electrical contacts. This breaks the circuit and shuts off the electrical current to the load.
