Working Mechanism
Eaton molded case circuit breakers are equipped with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trips.
The thermal trip comprises a bi-metallic strip that gets heated when an overcurrent passes through the conductors, causing the contacts to open and interrupt the current flow.
The magnetic trip, on the other hand, has an electromagnetic component that detects the presence of a short circuit.
As the current rises abruptly, a magnetic field is created that causes the displacement in the tripping coil.
This opens the contact again and stops the current flow, preventing any further damage to the equipment.
Features
These circuit breakers feature a non-interchangeable, thermal-magnetic trip that avoids nuisance tripping on mild overloads while reacting instantly when exposed to faulty currents, thus providing maximum protection.
They feature a contact design that offers high-speed blow-open action, resulting in superior performance and eliminating the risk of potential hazards.
These FD Series complete MCCBs come with an enhanced, easy-to-use interface, allowing the operator to view and make adjustments to the trip settings.
They are integrated with load-side terminals for easy installation with panelboards and load centres.
