Working Mechanism

  • When an overload or short circuit occurs, the circuit breaker senses the increase in current and triggers its internal mechanism to open the circuit.
  • It interrupts the flow of electricity and protects the circuit from damage.
  • Now, the user can reset the circuit breaker by flipping the switch, allowing it to restore electricity once the issue has been resolved.

Features

  • Eaton mining electronic moulded case circuit breakers are equipped with Arcflash Reduction Maintenance System that clears faults faster than a microprocessor-initiated instantaneous trip.
  • Their rugged design makes them ideal for underground applications.
  • These three-pole circuit breakers provide trailing cable protection, as per MSHA.

Compatible Accessories

  • Eaton Auxiliary Switches: These switches remotely indicate if the breaker contacts are open or closed.
  • Eaton Shunt Trips: These trips assist users in tripping the circuit breakers remotely.
  • Eaton Electric Reset Undervoltage Releases: These units (with an LED indicator) monitor voltage and trip the breaker when the voltage falls between 70 and 35% of the solenoid coil rating.

Standards and Approvals

  • CSA
  • IEC
  • UL

Frequently Asked Questions

What is electronic trip technology?

Eaton's 310+ electronic trip unit technology enables faster clearing time and reduces arc energy by as much as 75 percent to enhance operators' safety who are close to the downstream equipment.

What are the advantages of the three-pole configuration?

A three-pole circuit breaker can protect up to three separate circuits, making it useful in panelboards and switchboards having dense circuits.

What is the difference between R and N-frame circuit breakers?

R-frame circuit breakers are smaller and more compact, while N-frame circuit breakers are larger and more heavy-duty.
