How do you use an extension-style gasket cutter?

The cutter block with modular extension bars and adjustable cutting blade helps extension-style gasket cutters operate efficiently. The extension bars are attached to an extension bar pivot post at the cutter block to increase the cutting capacity. They are bolted together to maximise the radius. Extension-style gasket cutters move the bladed block around a central pivot point to create small to large diameter ring gaskets. The scale on the block is capable of being set to form gaskets of a specific inside and outside diameter. These crank-operated units turn their disc-shaped blade clockwise to cut both metallic and non-metallic ring, flange & irregularly shaped gaskets with ease.

How are Allpax 6000 Series kits used?

• Pierce a hole having a small diameter in the centre of the gasket material to be cut.
• Lay out the material flat on the cutting board.
• Poke the centre pin through the hole and insert into a ferrule in the board.
• Set the blade to the required depth of cut.
• Loosen the knurled nut and adjust it to the desired outside diameter.
• Add / remove extensions, if necessary.
• Place the tail of the extension onto the pin.
• Grip the block with one hand while holding the pin with the other.
• Sweep a circular pattern around the circumference of the material while simultaneously applying downward pressure.
• Remove the excess material.
• Adjust the cutter to the desired inner diameter and cut another circular pattern around that circumference.
• Remove the finished flange gasket.
