A tee joint's main run pipe is called the header whereas the other pipe is called the branch.
Generally, the branch size is smaller or equal to the header size.
Tee joints having branches smaller than the header are called reducing tee joints.
They can be welded, threaded or connected to compatible tubing / pipes.
Some tee joints can also fit together like puzzle pieces using screws for adjustability.
Selected tee joints can connect tubings / pipe at angles other than standard right angles.
The flow through the tee joints can be controlled by a compatible valve.
