TB Wood’s A5C / B5C Form-Flex couplings are spacer style couplings configured to minimise shaft separation. Two fully machined steel hubs & one flat block spacer are included in composite spacer Form-Flex couplings to eliminate the need for high maintenance center support bearings. These A5C / B5C Series couplings have a zero backlash design and offer elastomeric & gear coupling replacements without the need for lubrication. They can also be used in combination with floating shaft couplings and pillow block bearings to span long distances. Hub City spline shafts are specially designed for transmitting high amount of torque force and rotation. These plain and involute splined shafts feature 1215 cold-rolled steel to deliver fair vibration damping and excellent chemical resistance. We also offer Hub City couplings in 1144 stress-proofed steel to connect and transmit torque between two rotating shafts. These couplers feature Kwik-D-Tach connection for safe and secure attachments.

Lovejoy U-Type Couplings

  • These Uniflex couplings are used in a variety of applications, including high misalignment, space limitations, high temperature and exceptionally low backlash or windup conditions.
  • They feature a flexible triple-wound spring design that helps transmit torque between two rotating shafts while accommodating vibrations.
  • These compact couplings contain two hubs that are brazed to the speed spring pack to create a durable one-piece flexible coupling.
  • They are supplied with keyways and set screws for offering a secure and accurate connection between the coupling and the shafts.
  • These short-version couplings can accommodate different length requirements and provide a maximum OAL (overall length) tolerance of 1/8 inches.

TB Woods Form-Flex Couplings

  • They help transmit torque while compensating for angular, axial and parallel misalignment between two connected shafts.
  • These spacer couplings allow enough space for installation and maintenance without moving the connected machinery.
  • They feature a metal disc that uses a double hinge effect through two flexible discs and a spacer, causing both shafts to rotate at the same speed.
  • If the shafts are misaligned, the flexible element deflects and absorbs the displacement, reducing the transmission of vibration and shock between the two shafts.

Working Mechanism

  • The shafts of the machinery are positioned in such as way that their ends are facing each other.
  • The spline shaft is inserted securely into the grooves of the coupling.
  • The coupling is then fastened onto the end of the other shaft by using bolts or clamps.
  • When torque is applied to one of the shafts, it is transmitted through the spline shaft and coupling to the other shaft, causing both shafts to rotate at the same speed.
