Sealing And Cushioning Washers

Sealing washers are ideal for sealing out fluids, chemicals, moisture, oil, dust & other contaminants from fastener assemblies & surfaces. They are used with threaded fasteners like screws or bolts for liquid & dust protection. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of sealing washers from brands like Adapt-All, Grainger, APM Hexseal and Fabory. These liquid sealing washers press tightly against the fastened surface in plumbing, chemical, hydraulic, braking, food service & petrochemical applications.

Features

  • Sealing washers (when properly installed) are airtight and prevent vibrational noise.
  • Bonded sealing washers have a seal backed by metal for added strength, flexibility & tightness. These bonded sealing washers can be installed on any surface.
  • Sealing washers provide a secure connection with fasteners to prevent them from slipping, turning or loosening due to torque or vibration.
  • Most washers come in packs containing multiple pieces for easy replacement.
  • They are available in both Imperial & Metric dimensions.
  • Fabory sealing washers feature copper construction for corrosion resistance and are available in inside diameters ranging from 6 to 50 mm.
  • Grainger sealing washers are available in inside diameters ranging from 6 to 22 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a bonded sealing washer work?

The seal of a bonded sealing washer seals fluids outside the surface & around the fastener. The seal also effectively tightens around the fastener to reduce vibrational noise. The seal backing compresses the bonded seal for acting like a permanent cushion and protecting it from turning fastener heads.

How to install a sealing washer?

  • Place the washer under the screw / bolt head such that it touches the surface.
  • Make sure that the washer presses against the fastener & other adjacent surfaces and forms a tight connection.
  • Use a wrench or ratchet to tighten the nut or the threaded fastener.
  • The compression caused by tightening leads to sealing.

What is a cushioning washer?

Cushioning washers are ideal for protecting joints & fasteners by dampening vibrations.
