Dayton machine vises are designed to constantly mount to machine worktables to place and hold workpieces while machining. These vises have versatile jaws that can be opened and closed to increase and decrease the clamping force. They are also known as workholding vises and feature a broad base that offers a steady mount. The broad jaws provide a huge surface area for clamping workpieces. GWilton vises are made of high-grade cast-iron ideal for holding or clamping workpieces firmly during drilling, tapping and reaming jobs. These vises come with a ground vise bed to ensure trouble-free jaw movement and a Rapid Acting Nut (on selected models) for fast loading / unloading of metal stocks.
