Frequently Asked Questions

How to install Hartell ice machine pumps?

  • Position and hold the motor with the shaft facing up.
  • Place one washer over each motor stud.
  • Slide the slinger down the motor shaft to about 1/2-inch from the motor.
  • Place bracket (if used) over motor studs.
  • Place the housing over motor studs and note the orientation of discharge.
  • Place one washer over each motor stud.
  • Screw the thumb nuts onto the motor studs. Do not tighten.
  • Center the motor shaft in the housing centre hole and tighten the thumb nuts.
  • Slide the impeller onto the motor shaft.
  • Push and hold down the impeller. Screw the impeller nut into the motor shaft until it touches the impeller.
