Hydraulic Crimping Tool System

Crimping tools are best suited for crimping braided, spiral, thermoplastic & teflon hoses, C- & H-taps, lugs and overhead tension sleeves. Raptor Supplies offers a wide array of Aeroquip, Burndy, Eaton, Eclipse, Greenlee, Parker and Thomas & Betts hydraulic crimping tools. Eclipse hydraulic crimpers feature an interchangeable die for eliminating the requirement of additional tools, a flexible head capable of rotating up to 360 degrees and a built-in safety valve for bypassing oil levels upon reaching the maximum pressure limit. Selected models from Eaton feature a positive stop crimp diameter control for facilitating consistent crimping without any requirement of prior adjustments or calibrations, variable frame position for ease-of-installation and a hinged handle for fatigue-free operation with maximum gripping action. Choose from an extensive range of these tools available in pressure ratings ranging from 2500 to 10000 psi.

Features

Greenlee Crimping Tools

  • These quad-point crimping tools are designed to accommodate four indenters to make the crimp. Each intender applies pressure to the wire and terminal from a different angle, resulting in a uniform and consistent crimp.
  • They feature a hydraulic pump delivering a maximum pressure of 10000 psi that allows crimping of both small-and large-size wires and terminals with minimal ease.
  • They feature a compact and lightweight design that allows application in tight spaces.
  • They are equipped with 3/8 inches male screw couplers to connect the hydraulic pump to the crimping head.
  • They include a test gauge and test slugs to meet industry standards and user safety. They also come with a carrying case to provide storage and transport convenience.

Eaton Hydraulic Crimping Machine

  • This positive stop crimping machine allows consistent crimping at all times with no operator adjustment.
  • It features a lightweight design and hand-operated function to allow easy transport and operation where electricity is not available.
  • This crimping machine comes with high-efficiency PTFE grease to provide exceptional lubrication and reduce friction between moving parts.
  • It can be mounted on a workbench for providing stability and utilises 2-piece collet assemblies to securely hold or position the hose or fitting during the crimping process.
  • This crimping machine also includes spacer rings and a sliding pusher to create accurate and uniform crimps on hoses and fittings.

Working Mechanism

  • These crimping tools consist of a hydraulic pump, crimping head and interchangeable dies to perform the crimping process.
  • The hydraulic pump creates the necessary pressure to operate the crimping head.
  • The head of the crimping tool houses the dies and is attached to the hydraulic pump. It helps to position the dies in the correct location to make a crimp.
  • These pressure welding tools come with a set of interchangeable dies with different shapes and sizes to accommodate different wire and terminal sizes.
  • The wire and terminal are placed into the correct position between the dies.
  • Once correctly positioned, the operator can activate the hydraulic pump to apply pressure to the crimping die.
  • The crimping die compresses onto the wire and terminal, thereby creating a secure and reliable electrical connection.
  • Once the crimping is complete, the pressure is released and the wire & terminal can be removed from the dies.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a spacer ring?

A spacer ring is a circular metal piece placed on the end of the hose or fitting before it is inserted into the collet assembly to prevent it from slipping and shifting during the crimping process.

What is the function of a sliding pusher?

A sliding pusher is a metal rod designed to apply pressure to the hose or fitting to ensure it is held in place while the crimp is being made.

What is the use of a test slug?

A test slug is a device that tests the calibration and performance of the crimping tool. It is a specially designed metal piece that is crimped using the tool being tested. If the slug achieves a proper crimp by providing a measured force, the user can determine that the tool is properly calibrated and performing within industry standards.
