Hex head cap screws have a flat washer face positioned beneath the thick, hexagonal head to offer a large bearing surface for wrench tightening.
They have a six-sided head without a recess.
These screws allow greater torque than conventional screws with a circular head, owing to the hexagonal shape.
They are less prone to stripping than other screws as they distribute the turning force on all six sides.
