Anchor Bolts

Anchor bolts are specialised fasteners that attach objects or structures to masonry. They provide stability and support by anchoring structures to the base material. These cement anchor bolts secure columns, beams, equipment, machinery and signage to concrete or masonry surfaces. They are available as plain, zinc-plated and hot-dipped galvanised finish anchor bolts.

Features

  • These anchor bolts are inserted through the pole's base and into concrete.
  • They create an anchor via the friction between the anchor bolt and the anchor opening.
  • Wedge anchors strengthen concrete structures & walls, whereas stud bolts are suitable for anchoring pipes, blowers, pumps & support racks.
  • They are classified into four types: L-shaped, double-ended rods with plate, headed and swedge anchor bolts.
  • L-shaped bolts are employed in a variety of applications such as light poles, sign structures, heavy equipment & tooling.
  • These anchors are double-ended rods with a plate washer attached to one end. The plate can be welded to the anchor bolt itself or tack welded to a nut embedded in concrete.
  • Headed anchor bolts feature a forged head at their unthreaded end. It is usually a hex, heavy hex or square head. The head is embedded in concrete to secure a variety of structures such as structural columns, bridge railings & light poles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can we remove anchor bolts?

To remove an anchor bolt from the wall, completely unscrew it. With a sharp tap inwards, drive it deeper into the wall. This will disengage the anchor mechanism, allowing you to easily pull the plug from the wall.

What is the difference between cast-in-place and post-installed anchor bolts?

Cast-in-place anchor bolts are embedded into concrete during the pouring process, while post-installed anchor bolts are installed into pre-drilled holes in cured concrete. The choice between the two depends on factors, such as construction method, accessibility and project requirements.

Can I use anchor bolts to join steel structures to masonry structures?

Yes, L-hook anchor bolts can be used for anchoring structural steel columns, light poles and other similar applications to concrete foundations.

How are anchor bolts installed?

The installation involves drilling a hole into the concrete or masonry, inserting the anchor bolt and tightening it securely using a wrench or other appropriate tool.
