Val-Matic 38 air release valve is designed to release pockets of unwanted air in a pressurised water system to protect against air-related surges. It is widely used in water distribution & transmission fire pumps, pressure filters and hydropneumatic tools.
Features:
- It has resilient seating for positive shutoff and a non-clogging design to eliminate backwash.
- It comes equipped with a stainless steel float to accommodate high operating pressures and resist deterioration of metal parts from rust & corrosion.
- It is made of rugged cast iron for offering low wear resistance, high tensile strength and the ability to withstand pressure at low or high temperatures.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What is the purpose of a float?
A. When water enters the air valve, the float rises because of buoyancy and seals the valve. As air accumulates in the valve body, the float drops and opens the valve's orifice to vent accumulated air or gas from the system.
Q. How to maintain the valve?
A. Almost all types of liquids tend to carry deposits and suspended particles. To avoid possible functional disturbances and clogging caused by dirt, the valve has to be checked periodically and serviced (if needed).
Q. What happens if the valve is entrapped with unwanted air?
A. Air pockets in pressure piping systems reduce the efficiency of the flow and increase the power required for pumping. If big air pockets are created, they may cause a pressure surge, pipe rupture or even damage.
